All shooting/shadow issues have been resolved.

Unfortunately sound could not be completed for this release. Hopefully this can be accomplished within the next few days/ weeks. As soon as it is done Infiltrators will move to final status.

This release represents a major step towards finalising the movie.

Animation:

All animations are regarded final and have been implemented into the movie.

Level Design:
---------------------
The set has been somewhat extended to accomodate for a few camera angles that, in earlier versions, would have taken the viewer 'over the edge' of the actual level, resulting in unwanted insights into the skybox.
Earlier considerations of making the level playable in netplay have been suspended until further notice.

Player Model/Vehicles:
----------------------------------
Earlier considerations of making the character/vehicles usable as in-game models have been suspended until further notice or until further public demand.

Visual Effects:
----------------------
Additional VFX have been added to intensify the experience.

Sound Effects:

Sound at this stage is still layout. This issue will be resolved at the start of September and implemented for the next release.

Release Date: 05. May 2004

This is a pre-release for the purpose of submission to phase 3 of the Make Something Unreal Contest hostet by Epic Games.

Notes concerning

Animation:
----------------

Not all the animations are finished as of yet. You will notice the character sliding around instead of walking or running.
These bits are placeholder animatic anims which will be completed and implemented in the final realease.

Level Design:
---------------------

I concentrated on building the parts of the level that are vital for telling the story. At this stage there are no 'surroundings' and parts that are not seen in the cinematic have little or no detail work done to it.
Although a map file is included in this release ('Infiltrators_Map_v0.5.ut2'), it is only intended to give the juges a chance to have a closer look at the scenery.
The map has not been created for the use in a multiplayer game, but to create a scenery for the cinematic. As a result the map was not optimized for collision detection, bot paths are not set and weapon pickups and other game relevant issues have been neglected.
I might have a look into these matters at a later stage.

Player Model/Vehicles:
----------------------------------

These have not yet been compiled to actually function as usable models. Their purpose again was to tell the story in the cinematic.
Their design is finished, though and may be judged on that basis. Animation and compiling to make them usable in multiplayer games will follow.

Visual Effects:
----------------------

The shooting effects of the attacking vehicle are still somewhat out of whack, which is related to the above mentioned facts. This will be resolved for final release.

Sound Effects:
----------------------

The SFx are still layout and have been applied as a music file rather than event driven FX. This might result in them being out of sync slightly.
They will be reviewed as soon as animation is completed and applied correctly for final release.

 

For the UT2004 Realtime Version:

To view the Cinematic Trailer you must have Unreal Tournament 2004 installed on your computer.

1. Click on the 'UT2004' link above to download the self-extracting zip and save it to your HD.

2 .
Double-Click the'Infiltrators_Cinematic_v1.00.exe' to start self-extracting.

3. Specify the path to the UT2004 folder on your HD
(e.g. C:\Games\UT2004) and click 'Unzip'.

4. Double-click the 'Infiltrators_Cinematic_v1.00.ut2'
file within the maps folder to launch the game and view the Cinematic.

5. Enjoy.

For the Movie Version:
----------------------------------

1. Get Quicktime for free from Apples website, or follow the link to the left.
If you have Quicktime installed, just click the 'MOVIE' link above, sit back and relax.

2. To save the file to your harddrive, right-click on the link above and choose 'save as...'

3. Enjoy.
